Porcelain Veneers:
Instructor:
Otto Prandtner, MDT
Mr. Prandtner presents a stimulating one and half-day course combining the fundamentals of esthetics and the most current technologic methods used in creating life-like porcelain veneers for dentistry.
Participants will focus on clinically relevant information that is needed to provide successful advanced techniques for the creation of veneers for esthetic and/or prosthodontic practices.
This course is designed for dental technicians and/or dentists with an interest in learning to create life-like porcelain veneers. In this one and a half-day course, participants will have the opportunity to acquire a wide range of new techniques, which include learning to wax and contour a provisional veneer and create a matrix and lay porcelain on a refractory die to create a final veneer. Class size is limited to 8 participants to maximize the instructor’s ability to personalize instruction to each participants individualized skill level. When you leave this course you will have learned to:
- Use technological secrets and techniques to create porcelain restorations that replicate natural appearing dentitions.
- Select porcelain specific to each case that will maximize final esthetic and functional results.
- Precisely take a shade for a veneer that accurately defines a patient’s natural dentition.
- Mask discolorations of the underlying tooth with state-of-the-art porcelain materials.
- Layer & create depth to the porcelain by mastering handling principles, anatomic build-up techniques, and contour.
- Idealize and conceal margins to create a more precise fitting, marginally accurate and esthetically pleasing porcelain restoration.
- Design a wax-up that will serve as a diagnostic esthetic guide.
This workshop combines lecture & hands-on formats along with the small class size to provide individual, needs-specific mentoring from instructors to participants. Students are encouraged to bring a challenging or interesting case for review with the instructors & possible sharing with the entire class.
